2-Year Old Kidnapped By Village Tailor In Imo

Ikechukwu Nwachukwu, a 2-year old boy has been kidnapped from his parents’ home in Umuihim village in Umuozu Ugiri  in Imo State.

The child was allegedly abducted by one Ifeanyi Anyanwu, a tailor in the village. This was revealed by the kid's uncle,  Remigus Nwachukwu.
Speaking with newsmen, Remigus said:
“The child woke up that Saturday morning and was strolling within the compound around 7.00am when this Ifeanyi came and held Ikechukwu by the hand. People who saw him thought it was normal until about 9.30 that morning when the boy’s mother started looking for him to eat his breakfast.

“The woman didn’t suspect anything when she learnt that her son was with Ifeanyi. But when the time started pushing towards 10 and 11 that morning, everybody was alarmed and we eventually learnt that Ifeanyi was not at home. His wife and only daughter who had been at home since Monday were not at home again. It was then that people started looking for Ifeanyi and the little boy.

The suspect has also switched off his cellphone.
Confirming the development, the State Commissioner of Police, Chris Ezike, said:

''I am aware of the abduction. I have ordered the transfer of the matter from the Mbano Division to the State CID.
“We have the photograph and all the details of the suspect. He can run, but he cannot hide for a long time. This crime is a huge one and we are not resting until we nab the suspect and have the child reunited with his family.”
