Stunning African model proudly shows off striking birthmark after years of bullying

A stunning model with a striking birthmark has decided to ditch her make-up and bare all in a bid to change the world's perception of beauty.

Kgothatso Dithebe, 22, became a sensation for her striking appearance after she was spotted when she was 15-years-old.

She always covered her difference with thick foundation and powder, as instructed by modelling agencies. But when she was 19, she defied the modelling industry and bared her natural skin making her the first model with a birthmark in the country to walk Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week..
And now she claims she is being booked because of her unusual looks.Kgothatso, a law student from Pretoria, South Africa, said
: "When I was at school, I used to get bullied verbally, I was called all sorts of name – people used to say how my birthmark looked like an African map.
"I had people staring at me a lot. People think I have vitiligo. It affected me in a very bad way, so when I was approached by my first agency I was told to use make up and that become my confidence.
"I would cover up and feel beautiful.
"I had to re-learn to love myself.
"Now to me it's part of me. I never put on make-up.
Kgothatso decided to bare her own beauty without make up for the first time during a casting.
She said: "At first I was very scared, I didn't know how people would react.
"They knew the face I had with make-up and I had never posted pictures without.
"I was afraid and nervous but then something just clicked.
"But I got lots of compliments. And now if I get jobs, I get them for my birthmark.
"Clients see me and want to use me because I'm different and they remember my face.".
The model's biggest dream is to grace New York, Paris and Milan Fashion Week and is on the hunt for a New York agency.
