The 57-year-old mortuary attendant was alleged to have beheaded an unidentified corpse and concealed it in a bag. While attempting to leave the premises, he was caught with the head.
He was alleged to have attempted fleeing from the scene, but was prevented by policemen in the hospital who arrested him and took him to the Yemetu Police Station.
The charge sheet signed by one SP Adeniyi Odebiyi, read in part, “That you, Muritala Raimi, on March 15, 2017, at about 5.30pm at UCH Ibadan, in the Ibadan Magisterial District, did steal a human skull inside UCH mortuary, thereby committing an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 3 of the Criminal Code Cap 38, Vol. 11, Laws of Oyo State of Nigeria.”
